Hi, I'm Melanie!

I am first and foremost a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I'm a passionate Praise and Worship leader, writer, editor, avid devotee of technology (a.k.a., techie), soon-to-be Yorkie mom to already-named-pup, Oliver (which means "Peace"), and now a published author of both academic and professional works. Wow, that's all in one breath!

More than 15 years ago, I embarked on a journey that at the time I had no idea would lead to me writing and publishing a book. From a couple of school assignments in college, the root of the writing took hold, and ultimately led to my first book, The Simplicity of My Testimony: A Memoir, which I published in July 2022 and officially released the following month. With the publishing of the book, I became an unintentional business owner, establishing The Bona Fide Beasley to support the book. Like the book itself, the business name came after much prayer, writing down different ideas, and more prayer. I wanted my brand to truly reflect who I am: Authentic, genuine, original, and in the Latin definition, "in good faith."

Before I dove head-first into completing my memoir, and after being rejected for a Leadership Development Program at my job because of my work classification, God led me to return to school to earn my Master of Organizational Leadership degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. It was during my time at this amazing Christian University that I honed my writing and editing skills, something that I didn't know would lay the foundation for my memoir. It was also during this time that I conditioned myself to spend hours upon hours writing, a necessity to meeting my self-imposed publishing deadline.

Now that the book is out and the website is live, the next step is to get my memoir into as many hands as possible, with the hope and belief that others will be blessed and encouraged by my testimony.

What's next for me? I will continue my work as a copy editor for hire, and a content writer frankly because that's just what I love to do. Additionally, I will begin web design on a moderate basis, as well as consultations for people looking to write a book or start a small business. And since I'm comfortable speaking in public (and especially singing before my beloved church family), I'm exploring what I need to do to become a God-led, Spirit-filled, small-group motivational speaker to further share my testimony, and tell others about the goodness of the Lord and all that He has done for me!
